EZEZ, the logo

EZEZ logo

The ideas behind the EZEZ logo include the pattern of the letters forming steps moving upward, the color scheme representing the nature of each step, and the goal of reaching for the stars. Each concept involves different ideas.

The staircase is intended to convey the idea that there is a progression of steps, each one leading on to greater things. Since the ultimate goal is to make mankind a multi-planetary species for fun and profit, the staircase represents a stairway to the planets and stars. Past experience has shown that one can reach the Moon with idiotic socialistic centrally planned command economy ideas, but one cannot continue to return there, let alone create an economically sustainable infrastructure that would provide, say, hotels and dance clubs on the Moon. Clearly, free market methods are needed.

When considering a set of structures analogous to a staircase, one wants to reflect on lessons for building. The foolish man built his home upon the sand - the shifting sands of expedience. Adversity brought his house down. The wise man built upon a rock, per Matthew chapter seven. With a solid foundation of sound principles, the wise man was able to build a lasting creation. His home was not wrecked by storms. Similarly, a staircase to the stars - to provide for access to the resources of the entire Solar System - must be built on a solid foundation. So, that first step is key.

That first step is gold, for a reason. Gold is a metal we get from the Earth, so it is like a rock. Gold is better money. It is not based on the shifting sands of expedience, like fiat money. When governments have the power to issue as much money as they want, it seems clear they issue plenty. And, everyone suffers as a result of having money - the very basis of trade and commerce - based on the whims or even the psychoses of politicians (as Doug Casey has described them). We can do better, and the way to start is with free market money. If EZEZ accomplishes nothing more than the creation of that first step, it should be possible for others to build from there. If all we get done in our lives is the foundation of free market money on sound principles, we'll have done a great deal. Eliminating the money cartel and setting the economy on the sound footing of free market money would unleash the engines of creation and strike off the shackles from trade and commerce. The resulting boom times will see mankind among the stars.

The second step is purple to symbolize individual sovereignty - the royal purple. It also represents free countries - wherever they may be founded - on land, on the seas, in the air, in space, underground, among the planets, inside asteroids, around the furthest star. To many, individual sovereignty is a goal. To us, individual sovereignty is an important step along the way - foundational and early but not the final goal.

The third step shows a rocket taking off into the great blue beyond. The rocket represents any number of possible technologies for getting off the Earth. It is clear, again, from recent history, that even very simple technologies understood forty and fifty and sixty years ago were capable of getting mankind into space. It is not technology that holds us back, but politics and, to a very large extent, bureaucracy.

The fourth step features a galaxy. It illustrates the vast realm of possibilities accessible if we build upon a solid foundation. There is no good reason why people shouldn't have access to the entire galaxy. We have the tools, we have the will, all we need is a good plan and some foresight, and we'll get there.

There is always a risk when basing a logo on deeply held ideas that some people won't take the ideas seriously, or regard them as bunk, or disregard the rest of the plans and concepts because the idea of the logo is unacceptable. However, there is no gain without risk. In order to be understood, it is often necessary to risk the possibility of looking silly as one exposes one's deeply held convictions and beliefs. On the other hand, to find fellow travelers and accomplish one's goals, it is essential to explain where one plans to go. You can't get to the same place if everyone thinks the destination is different.

Besides, the goal for most people who read this plan is: invest some money to make a return. If you can do that without accomplishing anything else, you gain wealth to use for other things. Again, fundamentally, the gold is the first step, and the first step is gold.
